Situated in a private dwelling on an offshore UK island, this studio is built to the highest professional specifications, specifically to cater to the clients needs.
The Control room contains a 32 channel Soundtracs Solitaire, with 64 vca automated inputs and full virtual dynamics, a 24 track Otari Radar hard disk system and Genelec 1032 monitors with Tannoy PBM6.5 nearfields.
Outboard includes TLA Indigo valve compressors and voice channels, With a Lexicon PCM300 system heading up the reverb rack.
The live area has part local granite finished walls, a mezzanine floor for storage as well as to break up the reflections. Mic and headphone tielining is unobstrusively provided to all areas of the room.
The brief was for a state-of-the-art home studio with the finest equipment, digital storage and automation but with NO COMPUTER SCREENS! Once again the SWO rises to the challenge and produces the ultimate self-op live recording studio!
As is often the case - our involvement in a project of this sort extends far beyond the build and install. We regularly travel to the site to conduct ongoing training and help boost the learning curve of the client - after all, such a studio will of necessity be a considerable step up in the world of 'home' recording!
