'The Virtual Cassette'

FM short range Transmitter.

You know the scene: You've finished the mix and the band want to see how it sounds on the stereo in the car....but the cassette player's rubbish, the azimuth is wrong and there's wow and flutter.....
What they REALLY want is to hear what it will sound like on the radio, and now they can!
This little mono FM transmitter is pocket-sized, easily portable, and will interface to a wide range of input levels. It's transmission frequency is tunable within the 88 - 108 Mhz band so you can select a 'dead' space on the dial.
Just plug into the DAT output (or headphone output even) and hit play!
Now the band will get a clean, clear signal in their car outside, with none of the problems a cassette will produce!
Got a small radio and some headphones? Well now you've got a 'wireless' headphone system!
(As with all transmission apparatus, check licensing requirements in your country with the appropriate authorities). Guide cost: £85.00 sterling.

Loud enough for a Drummer!

Custom built Headphone Amplifiers.

We offer a range of custom headphone amps either rack mounted in 1u, or free standing to be used in the recording booth.
Based around modular 2.5 or 7 watt amplifier modules, these amps (unlike most commercially available h/p amps which tend to be rated at about 600 milliwatts) will kick out enough level to satisfy even the deafest guitarist or drummer!
Available in any combination starting with a simple twin amp - multiple output version, these amps can be configured to suit your individual needs. Guide prices: from around £120.00 sterling.

Kits.

All the above are available in kit form.
FM Transmitter kit: (circuit board / components / assembly instructions) (remember to use a plastic case!) £25.00 sterling
2.5 watt mono micro-amp module: (circuit board / components / assembly instructions) £ 19.00 sterling
7 watt mono amp module: (circuit board / components / assembly instructions) £ 22.00 sterling
All the above can be powered from either a 9v battery, or an easily available multi - voltage 'wall-wart' type power supply.

The Infinite Guitar Lead!

A Buzz-Busting balanced line driver and decoder for long guitar cable runs.

In response to a request from one of our customers, we have produced this unique and useful item.
Often guitarists wish to play in the control roon, but with their amp in the booth. However, when you try to run the (unbalanced) guitar signal down the tie-lines, three possible problems emerge:
1) The guitar's high impedance pick-ups can't drive the long line - resulting in loss of high frequencies.
2) The high gain of the amp, coupled with the long unbalanced line, conspires to pick up hums and buzzes, crosstalk from headphone lines, Radio Moscow, you name it - it will end up coming out of the speaker!
3) A ground loop is created between the amp and the desk - more hum!
Our line driver consists of two boxes of active, very low noise electronics; A driver - into which the guitar is plugged - amplifies the signal up to line level and balances it ready to go down the tie lines. At the other end is the decoder - which takes the signal, unbalances it, drops the level back down to the original signal level, and presents the amplifier with a signal virtually identical to the one it would see if the guitar was plugged into the amp with a short lead. No hum - No hiss. Amazing! (I wish I'd had one of these years ago!) Guide price £225.00 sterling.
